Favorite Newspaper Section

Reading the newspaper used to be a very ordinary task growing up. Something that I would do because I had nothing else to do. Every day, the newspaper delivery man would drop one outside our apartment door.  My parents would encourage my sisters and me to read it every day. I didn’t take pleasure reading it rather just read it out of boredom or when I wanted to escape homework. With every passing year, I enjoyed reading it until it got to a point where I did not go to bed without reading the daily news. I would read it after school while having lunch on school days or, during breakfast on holidays. Sadly, when I moved out, subscribing to a newspaper wasn’t on my mind. I still read the news every day while having breakfast but it’s on my laptop. Someday I would love to have a daily subscription like my parents do.

When I was younger, my favourite section to read was the ‘‘Letters to The Editor’’. I think it was the peoples opinion on certain things that I liked to read. They were honest, sometimes funny and very interesting. I still remember some of the very interesting things that I had read! I even sent a letter to the editor but sadly it wasnt published. I checked every day for months! Nowadays one of my favourite sections to read is Modern Love in the New York Times. It is a weekly series of essays written by readers exploring the subject of love. Not only couple love but love in all its forms. All of the essays are so well written. They are short but very detailed and incredibly interesting to read. Every Sunday morning with my cup of tea, I look forward to reading these essays.
