A bookshelf is the first furniture piece I notice in an apartment. My bookshelf, although small, is my favourite furniture in my apartment because it is where all my best-loved things reside, from books to objects to art, albeit a very small collection. Home Design TV Show
It’s a British TV show that some people are calling the best home design TV show in the world, and I would agree! In fact, the show is so popular that it has numerous spinoffs such Grand Design Australia and Grand Designs New Zealand. Hosted by Kevin McCloud, a former theatre designer, the show recently concluded its 17th season.
The show offers a realistic, often brutal, look at how couples put in time, money and effort into building or renovating their house. Each episode is an hour long showing the entire process of building an ambitious home from start to finish - no matter the duration. The host will visit as often as he can during the process and is never shy to give his critique. What makes the show very interesting are the candid interviews with the couples going through the process. Their stories, including disagreements and monetary issues, are shared. And if the home is completed, you feel a sense of relief and happiness for the couple for building, almost every time, a very stunning house. You might already be aware of my obsession with home design and architecture, and this show is a brilliant mix of the two. I would highly recommend you give it a watch.

3 Movie Posters That Are Worthy of Framing
I used to think having a framed movie poster would make my apartment look like a dorm until I came across this image where the Chocolat poster is framed, and it looks so so nice! Chocolat is one of my favorites movies, and to see the poster look so pretty in the living room, I wanted one in my apartment too. I thought about all my favorite movies with really nice posters, and to be honest narrowing it down to three was very difficult but I would love any of these three framed. Not only are all these great movies but how gorgeous are the posters?

Is Linen Bedding Better?
I love the look of linen bedding and became obsessed with them thanks to all those countless wonderful pictures on Instagram. But when I sat down to order, I was taken aback by the price! So I had to put that purchase on hold until I came across this linen duvet cover with pillowcases browsing at Ikea. I was sold on the price and the lovely beige colour. I bought a fitted sheet on sale from H&M and my dream bed was complete. I must admit, the first time I slept in those sheets, it felt weird, a bit rough but there was a hint of cosiness. What I didn’t know at the time was it is always a good idea to wash the sheets first before using. Linen sheets only get very soft after a few washes. Though the bedsheets were soft the duvet cover was not there yet.
I have used this bedding for an over a year and I love it. Even though I have a spare cotton bedding set, I don’t like sleeping in them anymore. I wash it at least once a week, and unfortunately, the fitted bed sheet did not hold up. It tore right in the middle. I have read the reasons could be; it was treated with chemicals to make them soft without the actual washing or, it could be that linen sheets shouldn’t be fitted because the lack of movement makes them prone to tears. On the other hand, the Ikea duvet cover and pillowcases are the softest thing I have ever slept in. It has not torn and the colour has gotten better. If you’re looking for linen duvets on a budget I would recommend the ones from Ikea. The next time I buy linen sheets, it would definitely have to be flat. In the meantime, I am hoping Ikea introduces linen sheets too.
